Are Wrinkle Creams Effective?

Do you slather on the anti-wrinkle cream hoping that those fine lines around your eyes and mouth will magically disappear one day? Most women include anti aging treatments and wrinkle creams into their daily, facial cleansing and moisturizing routine, but are they really worth the effort? Every manufacturer is always trying to build a better mouse trap, but are women getting caught in the trap of spending big bucks on products that really don’t work? Some studies have shown reduction in fine wrinkles around the eyes with no side effects. Other studies have shown that application before sun exposure protects against sun damage. In addition to retinol, hydroxyl acids and coenzyme Q10, there are many lesser known products used to treat skin wrinkles. Copper is a trace element found in every cell, so some face wrinkle cream recipes incorporate copper peptides. Copper peptides are believed to enhance healing and stimulate production of collagen in the skin. Tea extracts are the latest trend to hit the skin care market. Green, black and oolong tea contain compounds with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Green tea extracts are the ones most commonly found in creams for wrinkles.

Unfortunately, anti skin aging creams don’t come with a money back guarantee. Because the FDA classifies anti wrinkle creams and lotions as cosmetics, products don’t need to undergo rigorous testing for safety and effectiveness before they are approved to go on the market. Consequently, finding an effective anti wrinkle treatment may be a bit of a crap shoot. Look for products that have high concentrations of the most effective anti-aging ingredients.
